Hey,
Remember last week when I asked for your help choosing the final artwork for my new brush set guide?
Here’s that post in case you missed it.
Well… the brush set is done! It’s officially out in the world.
Wet media set
This is my second Procreate set, and I can feel myself getting more confident with the process. It’s weirdly satisfying to tweak all those little settings like pressure sensitivity, and finally see the brush behave the way I imagined.
It also took longer than I expected. Mostly because I couldn’t stop tinkering. I wanted this set to feel like something I’d genuinely use in my own work. That meant lots of test paintings, lots of tweaks, and a few brushes that didn’t make the cut.
I think I went through ten different versions of the watercolor brush alone. Every time I thought I had it, I’d do another sketch and realize it needed just one more adjustment.
The exciting moment with this set was to figure out how much I could do with the Smudge tool and learning how to blend edges and get that watery, flowy look. So fun to use.
But… why?
Some artists question whether it makes sense to replicate traditional media digitally. What do you think?
In my case, I think I just love the challenge. All the little tricks and combinations that bring me closer to that traditional, hand-painted look. I still remember how excited I was when I made one of my first gouache brushes and saw that smudgy, opaque stroke finally working the way I pictured it.
So what’s inside the set?
Twelve brushes: liners, shaders, a smudge brush, and an eraser. You’ll also get my favourite cold press paper texture and a color swatch with the exact palette I’ve been using.
The set is available now, and I’m offering 10% off for Substack readers until this Friday, July 11.

Huge thanks to
, , , , , , , for testing the brushes early on and sharing your feedback. It made the set so much better! If you end up painting with the brushes, I’d love to see what you make!
Until next time,
Maybe it doesn't make sense to replicate traditional media digitally, but I also love the challenge. I don't like a digital look for my work so I enjoy the process of trying to make a digital drawing look as traditional as possible. So of course I had to buy your brush set ;-) Can't wait to try them out!
Congratulations on launching this fantastic brush set. It was such a pleasure to get to beta test them and now see how all your hard work, careful experimentation and fine tuning have come together. You've made a beautiful thing and I look forward to experiencing them out in their final form soon.
